ACTIVITIES & ACHIVEMENTS !

ECP carries out research on aetiology and prevention of cancer utilising the wide range of cancer incidence within Europe, together with the wide range in exposure to putative risk factors such as diet pattern, tobacco exposure, exogenous hormones, alcohol, etc.

The type of activities undertaken by ECP include:

* International concerted-action studies on the causation of cancer at individual cancer sites or groups of sites

* International concerted-action intervention studies to assess the value of particular strategies for the prevention of cancer at individual sites or groups of sites

* The organization of symposia or workshops to review or promote research on the causation of prevention of human cancer, study methods, the assessment of the current state-of the art, discussion of topical areas or controversy, etc.

* Public education (in cooperation with Cancer Leagues and similar bodies) on currently recommended strategies for the promotion of cancer prevention

* The production of a journal, the European Journal of Cancer Prevention , a website and a regular newsletter 'ECP news' to spread information on cancer prevention. ECP publications can be obtained on simple request.
